Cranberry Walnut Orange Bread

1 orange
Boiling Water
1 egg
1 c sugar
1 c cranberries, chopped
1/2 c chopped walnuts
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda

Preheat oven to 350. Butter a loaf pan. Grate orange rind and squeeze juice into a measuring cup and add enough boiling water to make 3/4 c. Add orange rind and the butter and stir to melt butter. Beat egg, gradually add sugar, beating well. Add remaining ingredients and orange mixture and mix well. Spoon into pan and bake 1 hour.
